PERSONAL

Born 1958 in San Diego, California.

Married with 2 children.

Attended elementary, middle and high school in Torrance, California.

PROFESSIONAL

Hired on the LAFD in 1978.

Worked as a firefighter in the Wilshire and Echo Park area of Los Angeles from 1978 – 1984.

Promoted to Apparatus Operator in 1984 (driving the hook and ladder) and worked in the Watts area of Los Angeles.

Promoted to Captain I in 1988 and was assigned as commander of Fire Station 64 in South Central Los Angeles.

Was an instructor at the Training Academy from 1989–1991.

Promoted to Captain II in 1992 and was assigned to a Task Force in South Central Los Angeles. Was transferred to Task Force 35 in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles in May, 1992, after the Civil Disturbance of April, 1992.

Currently on an administrative detail at LAFD headquarters, City Hall East, assigned as the Departments Community Relations Officer. Duties include; responding to major incidents and handling media relations and TV interviews
